President Trump Attempts to Quell Fears Following Black Monday Stock Market Tumble

Following an early morning stock market plunge, trading was halted on the floor for 15 minutes for the first time since 2008. Concerns over the coronavirus and a plunge in oil prices apparently are the culprits this time.

President Trump issued a series of tweets, attempting to quell the panic and the markets have appeared to stabilize for now.

Prior to the latest troubles, there were many in the media and on the left crediting former President Obama with the success of the market under President Trump.

When Trump entered office he benefited from an economy that was in its eighth year of growth, a stock market that had been consolidating for about two years and was close to an all-time high. Making new highs is much easier in this situation vs. the one that greeted Obama when he took office.

Many on the left and in the media are now are blaming President Trump for the latest crash by saying that he is not doing his job properly.
