Rep Ronny Jackson Asks Why Democrats are Afraid of Possible Free Speech Expansion in Wake of Musk/Twitter News

Recently, business mogul and electric-car pioneer (via Tesla) Elon Musk took a 9.2% stake in Twitter. It is likely that he knew he would be the largest single shareholder in the social media company in doing so. Musk is not always extremely political but he hints at having right-leaning feelings towards the nasty beast that is politics.

U.S. House Rep Ronny Jackson (R-TX) and former White House doctor has some feelings about the fluid and dramatic situation that is unfolding before our eyes. This is because many left-wingers fear what Musk may do with so much influence over Twitter.

This rings especially true now that people know that Musk is friends with Jack Dorsey, who is the former Twitter CEO and also a part-owner. Dorsey was largely looked at as pro-censorship during his time at the helm, or if nothing else, not helpful towards the cause of ring-wingers who believed to be battling censorship.

Dorsey however, has signaled he may not actually be against free speech, and some speculate he wasn’t necessarily that much in charge as CEO. While it’s unlikely that right-wingers will be able to trust Dorsey anytime soon, if ever, the alliance between him and Musk is very interesting anyway, especially considering that Dorsey may have a “bone to pick” with Twitter.

Not much has been done yet that we know of in the realm of “loosening the grip” of censorship at Twitter. Many don’t feel Musk can or will make a huge difference. However, for every right-wing skeptic, there is a left-winger in fear that Musk may actually do something substantial after all.

This has caused many to panic that Republicans won’t be censored as much, which many feel could affect elections and more. We can only speculate as to what Musk will ultimately do, but people will be opining a lot while things unfold. Rep Jackson had this to say recently:

“It’s very revealing to see so many Democrats squirm at the idea of Elon Musk having the ability to promote free speech on Twitter. Why are they so afraid of different viewpoints?”

Many Democrats claimed that free speech was never under attack and that Twitter only banned people for basic terms and conditions violations. However, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal has mentioned that free speech isn’t his first priority after all.

This has vindicated what many have been saying all along and we’ll stay tuned to see what happens next, as alternative sites like Truth Social and Gab come onto the scene.
