A video of Joe Biden being asked about Hunter Biden’s dealings with Burisma has resurfaced. The video is from December of 2019 when Biden was campaigning for president.
In the video, Axios’ Mike Allen asked Biden about his son being paid a lot of money to sit on the Ukrainian gas company Burisma board while he was Vice President. Allen added that to the “Average Joe, that sounds fishy.”
Allen asked, “What’s your understanding of what your son was doing for an extraordinary amount of money?”
Biden replied pointing to ignorance of his son’s position, “I don’t know what he was doing. I know he was on the board. I found out he was on the board after he was on the board. And that was it.”
Allen followed up, “Well you’ve had a lot of time,” pointing out that by this point claiming ignorance doesn’t make sense. “Isn’t this something you want to get to the bottom of?”
“No,” Biden answered, “Because I trust my son.
“But that doesn’t pass the smell test,” Allen retorted. “Like when you were vice president, isn’t there a higher standard? Don’t you need to know what’s happening with your family? Don’t you need to put down some guardrails?”
“Unless there was something that was something on its face that was wrong. There’s nothing on its face that was wrong,” Biden answered.
Biden then redirected the conversation about his son’s possible criminal activity to Trump’s family. “So look if you want to talk about problems, you know, let’s talk about Trump’s family.” He then added, “I mean, come on,” a phrase he overuses to deflect.
Clearly frustrated over the questioning of his son’s business dealings Biden then added, “You guys are amazing.”
Allen continued to press Biden, “So you think that everything that happened was kosher?”
Biden then waved his hand at Allen and said, “You know there’s not one single bit of evidence. Not one little tiny bit to suggest anything done was wrong. You know that, but you keep asking me these questions.”
Allen then asked what was a hypothetical question at the time. “You’re elected, you’re in office. What guardrails would you have to be sure that your son, your bother Jimmy doesn’t do anything to trade on the family name?”
“They will not be engaged in any foreign business because of what’s happened in this administration,” Biden replied as he attempted to redirect to Trump’s family.

The House GOP seems to have dug up some of the evidence that Biden claimed there was none of.
As Republicans took over the House in the 2022 midterm elections, they have moved to dig into alleged Biden family criminal activity.
Yesterday in a closed hearing, Hunter Biden former associate Devon Archer testified. The revelation that Joe was brought in on 20 phone calls was made known. This appears to counter one of Biden’s claims that he never had any dealings with his son’s foreign business dealings.
We will see what evidence the House GOP finds on the Biden family and if they will move to impeach Biden
