Rick Scott Throws Shade at Mitch McConnell as Some Wonder if he Wants Senate Leader Position, Tells him not to ‘Trash Talk Our Candidates’

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has lashed out at some of the pro-Trump wins in recent history.

McConnell is always super specific because he is a real seasoned politician. However, he recently speculated that the Republican party may not win the U.S. Senate back as speculation grows that their chances of getting a supermajority in the U.S. House have slimmed down some.

McConnell pointed to ”candidate quality” in his speculation about the senate. This came after former President Donald Trump had a string of GOP primary wins with many of his endorsed “MAGA” candidates.

While this fired up the Trump base, it saddened the likes of Mitch McConnell and his ”RINO” ilk in our opinionated view. U.S. Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) isn’t necessarily seen by many as ”ultra-MAGA” himself, however, he has been generally more supportive of Donald Trump, and rumored as a potential to replace McConnell should the senate go to the GOP.

It’s possible that McConnell sees everything as related and could be in self preservation mode, if we had to speculate. Our earlier reporting as seen below may lend credence to our thoughts:

Scott spoke to Politico, saying:

“If you trash talk our candidates … you hurt our chances of winning, and you hurt our candidates’ ability to raise money,” the Senate Republican campaign chief told POLITICO.

The report also included this:

“Sen. McConnell and I clearly have a strategic disagreement here … We have great candidates,” the National Republican Senatorial Committee chair said in an interview Wednesday. “He wants to do the same thing I want to do: I want to get a majority. And I think it’s important that we’re all cheerleaders for our candidates.”

Only time will tell how the GOP drama will play out as speculation grows that Democrats are strategizing to do anything possible to keep power.
