Governor of Georgia Brian Kemp made his announcement last night that he will see a second term. See his tweet below:
“As GA’s 83rd governor, I have worked every day to put Georgians first. With a grassroots army spanning all 159 counties, Marty, the girls, and I are IN THE FIGHT for 2022 to continue building a brighter, more prosperous future for our state.”

His tweet links back to his website with a list of “Grassroots Army and Staff” and a statement from Bobby Saparow, his campaign manager.
In an exclusive given to WSB-TV 2 Atlanta, Kemp is quoted as saying, “Our state’s in a really good place, and it’s going to get better. And I want to keep driving that ship. I think if they really look at my record and what I said when I campaigned, when I won the governor’s race, I mean, really and a drive and determination to put hard working Georgians first ahead of the status quo.”
At a Loeffler and Perdue rally in December, former President Donald Trump announced that he would be back to the state of Georgia to campaign against the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor. Kemp won his first election with the support of President Trump.
Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan announced he will not seek reelection instead work on GOP 2.0. Trump issued a statement after this news was released.
“Good news for Georgia and the Republican Party. Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan won’t be running again for office. He was the one who, along with Governor Brian Kemp, stopped the Georgia State Senate from doing the job they wanted to do on the 2020 Presidential Election Fraud. Duncan’s fight against Election Fraud made him unelectable. His former top aide, Chip Lake, said that the Lieutenant Governor would not win another term in office. Lake said, “I think he was an accident, and this is what happens when accidents happen in politics. They become one and done.” Now maybe the Georgia State Senate and House will build up the courage to expose the large-scale Presidential Election Fraud, which took place in their otherwise wonderful State. Let them just look at the State Senate in Arizona to find out what Leadership and Patriotism is all about!”
Trump supporter and former Democrat Vernon Jones has already announced he will bein running for Governor earlier this year. Jones has spoken out against Kemp and is set to make a huge announcement today. In a tweet, Jones blames Kemp for Trump’s loss.
“I’m looking closely at Georgia’s race for Governor. If it weren’t for Brian Kemp, Donald Trump would still be President of these United States. We need courageous conservatives leading our state, not those afraid to stand up to the Radical Left.”

If it weren’t for Brian Kemp, Donald Trump would still be President of these United States.
We need courageous conservatives leading our state, not those afraid to stand up to the Radical Left.
As Georgia Democratic Party chair and Rep. Nikema Williams put it, “With members of his own party rebuking him and his approval rating among voters shaky at best, Brian Kemp is standing on thin ice from left to right.” Kemp has quite the battle ahead of him with both Republicans and Democrats.
Many anticipate that he will again face Stacey Abrams, that is if he wins the Republican nomination. In 2018 he barely won against Abrams with a margin of a little over 1% of the vote or around 55k votes.
With 2022 only about half a year away we will see who else throws their hat in this race and what will come.
