Ron DeSantis Kicks Dr. Fauci When he’s Down, Says He Did ’A lot of Damage’

During an appearance yesterday on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” Ron DeSantis weighed in after Anthony Fauci announced that he would be stepping down from his current positions in December.

DeSantis was asked if he was going to “miss” Fauci, to which he shook his head responded, “I think he’s done a lot of damage.”

“He should’ve been gone long ago and if you think about what he’s done with his arrogance, that’s part of the reason why he’s advocated policies that have been so destructive,” DeSantis explained.

DeSantis then pointed out that “He thinks people who disagree with him are somehow beneath him, but his policies were the driving force behind locking kids out of school in parts of this country for over a year.”

“He was never willing to admit he was wrong when it was clear that those policies don’t work,” DeSantis insisted.

DeSantis also indicated that if Republicans take back control of the House, he would welcome an investigation to “get to the bottom” of COVID, which would include Fauci.

DeSantis’ comments got the attention of Occupy Democrats who said in a two-part tweet, “BREAKING: Florida’s MAGA Gov. Ron DeSantis attacks Dr. Fauci by falsely claiming he’s ‘done a lot of damage’ and is ‘destructive,’ but DeSantis got so many Americans killed during COVID that his nickname became ‘DeathSantis.’ RT IF YOU’D CHOOSE DR. FAUCI OVER DESANTIS ANY DAY!”

“If you support Dr. Fauci after Florida’s MAGA Gov. Ron DeSantis just attacked him by falsely claiming that he’s ‘done a lot of damage’ and is ‘destructive,’ even though DeSantis got so many people killed during COVID that his nickname became ‘DeathSantis,’ retweet and follow us!” the group added.

As we reported Monday, Fauci issued a statement announcing that he would be stepping down from the positions of Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and Chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation, as well as the position of Chief Medical Advisor to President Joe Biden.
