Rumor Circulates on Twitter that Tucker Carlson’s Fox News Contract May Not Specifically Cover his Ability to Tweet Out His Show

Rumors are circulating on Twitter that Tucker Carlson’s non-compete agreement with Fox News may not prohibit him from posting content on Twitter.

Twitter user @amuse tweeted:

“RUMOR: @TuckerCarlson‘s noncompete with FOX lists the various networks he can’t work for but specifically allows him to post to his Twitter account. Since Fox didn’t see Twitter as a competitor he is free to post content without violating his agreement. h/t @barnes_law…”

Adding:

FWIW: I have no personal knowledge of Tucker’s contract so I cannot corroborate this rumor. This is a rumor from someone who has seen similar contracts and carve-outs for Twitter and has contacts who know Tucker and/or his legal team.”

As @amuse made clear this is all just a rumor or speculation on what Carlson’s noncompete will allow him to do.

Carlson has announced his plans to start releasing new content on Twitter. On the same day, a letter was sent from Carlson’s lawyer to Fox News which accused them of breach of contract. The letter focused in on Irena Briganti when blaming Fox News for attempting to ruin Carlson’s future prospects for employment.

The letter insinuates that Briganti was the one releasing leaked videos of Carlson as well as some of his private text messages.

Variety has reported that Carlson was being ousted as part of an agreement made with Dominion. Dominion Voting has come out disputing this. “Dominion made no demands about Tucker Carlson’s employment orally or in writing. Any claims otherwise are categorically false and a thinly veiled effort to further damage Dominion. Fox should take every effort to stop these lies immediately,” Dominion said in a statement.

It appears Carlson is ready to move on and get back to providing news to the masses. We will see what comes of the non-compete agreement between Fox News and Carlson.
