Rush Limbaugh’s Widow Tells Glenn Beck That Receiving the Medal of Freedom From Trump ‘Meant Everything to Him’

In an interview with Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh’s widow Kathryn Limbaugh told the radio host that receiving the Medal of Freedom from former President Donald Trump “meant everything to him.”

The interview came about as a new book called “Radio’s Greatest of All Time,” which Rush began as a “special project to reflect on his extraordinary life and gather words of wisdom that could carry on through all of us.”

Ultimately, the project was completed by Kathryn and Rush’s younger brother David Limbaugh and was recently released.

Beck shared a clip from the beginning of the interview in a tweet and said, “Kathryn Limbaugh confirms to me that yes, Rush Limbaugh’s death certificate actually lists his occupation as ‘Radio’s Greatest of All Time’: “It was a way to tweak the media as a final goodbye from Rush.'”

After they discussed the title, Beck noted that he was at the Capitol the night that Rush got the Medal of Freedom.

“He always struck me as a humble person in real life and I could see that deeply moved him that night,” Beck said.

Kathryn agreed with him and told Beck, “One of his attributes that we all loved the most was that he was so humble.”

“He always tried to have a better show the next day, he never thought that he accomplished the peaks that he did,” Kathryn explained.

Kathryn told Beck that Rush wasn’t expecting the award and “That night meant everything to him. He was very surprised by it.”

“He was so incredibly touched, so honored, so thrilled, it meant everything to him, literally,” Kathryn emphasized.

Kathryn also added that Rush wasn’t feeling well that night and that he had surgery the next day as he attempted to battle cancer.
