It is being reported that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is in the hospital. McConnell was at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Washington D.C. when the incident occurred.
A statement by a McConnell Spokesman has been issued. David Popp said the following: “This evening, Leader McConnell tripped at a local hotel during a private dinner.
He has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment”. The 81 Republican was reportedly transported to the hospital at 9:17 PM on Wednesday evening.
At this time it’s unclear if the injuries are severe, or if he simply went due to an abundance of caution because of his position as a U.S. Senator as well as his age. We will continue to monitor this situation and bring updates as things continue to develop.
McConnell was recently embroiled in an angry statement regarding a recent Tucker Carlson episode regarding new January 6th videos being released and reported on via Carlson’s Fox News television show.
