Sheriff Joe Arpaio shared a personal message of support that he once received from Naomi Judd in tweet today.
Arpaio also sent his condolences and prayers to her family and fans following her passing, which sources confirm to have been a suicide.
“My condolences and prayers go out to Naomi Judd’s family and fans,” Arpaio began in the tweet.
Arpaio continued, “I am deeply saddened by Naomi’s passing and always enjoyed her support and interesting comments during the years.”
“Naomi was a phenomenon. We need more entertainers like her,” Arpaio insisted in conclusion.
Arpaio also included a picture of the two together and along with the personal message from Judd.
“Love & happiness to the toughest & baddest Sheriff Joe!” Judd declared in the message, signing her name and “99.”

As we previously reported, Judd’s daughters put out a statement following her passing that said, “Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory. – Wynonna and Ashley”
This statement lead many to speculate, that Judd had taken her own life, something she had talked about struggling with in the past. The family asked for privacy and announced: “no additional information will be released at the time.”
In 2016 Judd released a book, ‘River of Time: My Descent into Depression and How I Emerged with Hope‘. The book details her struggle with suicidal depression.
