President Trump and attorney Sidney Powell met in the Oval Office last night and were joined by Trump’s former national security adviser and recently pardoned, Gen. Michael Flynn.
Flynn has been publicly prodding Trump recently to take unprecedented steps to seize a second term — including declaring martial law and ordering the military to oversee new elections in the battleground states.
Trump reportedly invited Powell to consider the possibility that she be appointed a special counsel and be given high-level security clearances to investigate the 2020 election, charting a scorched-earth strategy.
Sources told ABC News that the meeting was highly contentious, filled with screaming and demands from Powell, who called other Trump aids “quitters” for giving up the fight.
The meeting reportedly ended with White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, White House Counsel Pat Cipollone, and other Trump attorneys talking the president out of making the offer and Attorney Rudy Giuliani, who joined the meeting by phone was also reportedly opposed the idea.
Powell today tagged Trump in a retweet of attorney Lin Wood and said, “The #Left is trying everything & every dirty trick to stop us. The truth will come out. They are terrified.”
Wood’s tweet said that a “Judge in Delaware issued show cause order against me today to revoke my appearance as counsel for Carter Page in defamation case, contending I violated Bar rules by filing GA case now before US Supreme Ct. & was co-counsel in Wisconsin election case filed by Sidney Powell.”
The #Left is trying everything & every dirty trick to stop us. The truth will come out.
