In a monologue last night on Saturday Night Live, guest host John Mulaney, a comedian who got his start on the show, described how Julius Caesar “was such a powerful maniac that all the senators grabbed knives and they stabbed him to death.” He continued, “That would be an interesting thing if we brought that back now.” He concluded by suggesting, “I asked my lawyer if I could make that joke and he said let me call another lawyer and that lawyer said yes.” He didn’t name President Trump although clearly he was aiming at implying that he thinks it would be interesting if politicians/Senators actually stabbed the commander in chief.

He began the joke by tying in the fact that it is a leap year which was included in the calendar under Caesar’s direction, “It is a leap year, as I said. Leap year began in 45 B.C. under Julius Caesar. This is true, he started the leap year in order to correct the calendar and we still do it to this day,”
Attorney and media personality Manny Alicandro, who has run as a Republican in 2018 New York Attorney General Election before withdrawing, called on President Trump to “please inform” the Secret Service and the New York FBI.
