California GOP Governor candidate Larry Elder declared yesterday that “The intolerant left will not stop us” after an attack on him and his security detail while kicking off his “Recall Express” bus tour.
We reported yesterday that In a video, a person in a gorilla mask was following behind Elder on a bicycle and threw an egg at his head, narrowly missing.
Multiple people then appear to assault a member of his security detail as they attempt to put some distance between a growing mob and Elder.
Elder responded last night in a tweet where he said, “Today I kicked off the Recall Express bus tour. Before we even left Los Angeles, my security detail was physically assaulted, shot with a pellet gun, and hit with projectiles.”
“The intolerant left will not stop us. We will recall Gavin Newsom. We will save California,” Elder insisted.
Former Trump campaign advisor Jessie Jane Duff responded to Elder’s tweet and added, “Not to mention, @larryelder was harrassed by a vile white woman in a gorilla mask.”
“Democrats have no new ideas other than telling black and brown people Larry is their enemy. Yet, California is a Democrat run state and has inexcusably failed the communities they claim to elevate,” Duff added.

Conservatives were outraged by the treatment of Elder and many took to Twitter to vent.
Tim Young pointed out, “15 FBI agents were sent to look at a garage pulley in Bubba Wallace’s garage…”
“How many will be sent to investigate the chick who dressed like a gorilla and threw eggs at Larry Elder? 1 junior officer?” Young wondered.

Todd Starnes noted, “The white woman in the gorilla mask who attacked Larry Elder committed a hate crime.”

Meanwhile, left wing media outlets attempted to downplay what transpired. For example, the LA Times suggested that Elder simply cut short his “Venice homeless encampment tour” after a “hostile reception.”
Club For Growth’s Andrew Follett called them out and stated, “I wonder what your headline would be if an activist wearing a gorilla mask threw an egg at a African American DEMOCRATIC (candidate) for Governor… You probably wouldn’t blame the victim in that case…”
