‘This is Not How I Wanted My Time At CNN To End’ Chris Cuomo Releases Statement After Being Canned

Now unemployed Chris Cuomo released a statement after being canned by CNN, stating that it was not how he wanted his time at the news outlet to end.

“This is not how I wanted my time at CNN to end but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother,” Cuomo began in the statement.

Cuomo continued, “So let me now say as disappointing as this is, I could not be more proud of the team at Cuomo Prime Time and the work we did as CNN’s #1 show in the most competitive time slot.”

Referencing his co-workers again, Cuomo concluded, “I owe them all and will miss that group of special people who did really important work.”

Twitter user “Pandalicious” offered support for Cuomo in a response to his tweet that contained the statement, “Chris! We support you!!”

“It’s CNN’s loss. Best wishes to you & we look forward to your other new programs in a different venue soon!!” she declared adding a crying face emoji.

In a quote tweet of Cuomo’s statement, Mike Cernovich told Cuomo, “At least your brother is alive – unlike all those people he killed in nursing homes.”

Earlier we reported that CNN put out a statement where they said, “Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately.”

“While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light. Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate,” the outlet added.

Brian Stelter, who appears eager to replace Cuomo, quote tweeted CNN’s announcement of the news and quipped, “We’re back live on @CNN TV covering the news about our own house, now.”
