Tiger Woods Apologizes to those Offended After Setting Off Social Media Firestorm by Handing Justin Thomas a Tampon as a ‘Prank’ During Golf Tournament

Tiger Woods yesterday apologized to those who were offended after he set off a social media firestorm by handing fellow competitor Justin Thomas a tampon as a “prank” during a golf tournament.

Woods gave Thomas the tampon on Thursday as the two were walking toward their balls after he had outdriven him by 20 yards on a tee shot.

After Thomas dropped the tampon to the ground, Woods put his arm around his shoulder and the two laughed about it.

For some on social media, it wasn’t a laughing matter as Woods was accused of being a misogynist by a leftist mob.

During an appearance before the media, Woods was asked about the “viral” joke and his response to the critics.

Woods quipped, “Yeah, it was supposed to be all fun and games and obviously it hasn’t turned out that way.”

“If I offended anybody, it was not the case, it was just friends having fun. As I said, if I offended anybody in any way, shape, or form, I’m sorry,” Woods explained.

Woods added, “It was not intended to be that way. It was just we play pranks on one another all the time and virally I think this did not come across that way, but between us it was, it’s different.”

Former Olympic sprinter Michael Johnson, however, didn’t accept Woods’ apology and declared in a tweet, “Apology starting with ‘If I offended anyone’ is no apology. But this is Tiger. Never been a leader and he’s Teflon.”

“Still heralded after all the mistakes so he’s learned nothing. Media focus always on miraculous recovery. Never why the need for recovery,” Johnson insisted.
