Time “Senior Correspondent” Charlotte Alter shared her thoughts on John Fetterman’s performance in tonights debate.
Alter had spoken to Fetterman in a one one one conversation before tonight’s debate, yet she was still surprised with how poorly Fetterman did. She pointed out that he sounded “much worse” then when they had their conversation.
“I spoke to Fetterman recently, and I expected him to be very bad tonight. But he was much much worse than I expected (and much worse than in our one-on-one conversation.)”
She then broke her ”take” down for anyone who may have been confused by her first tweet.
“My take all in one place: 1) Fetterman was already a very bad debater pre-stroke 2) I spoke to him recently, and his communication in our one-on-one conversation was much clearer than what we saw tonight”

Many Journalists were surprised, even Joe Scarborough couldn’t ignore the blaring reality shown on the debate stage.
“John Fetterman’s ability to communicate is seriously impaired. Pennsylvania voters will be talking about this obvious fact even if many in the media will not.”

Many believe it is all to obvious why Fetterman’s camp tried to avoid debating Mehmet Oz at all. Some fans of Fetterman are already out blasting back, trying to compare Fetterman’s impairment from his stroke to FDR’s use of a wheel chair.
In response to Alter’s observation one Twitter user shared he was offended.
“Your post is offensive. I wonder what you would have said about FDR…”

It appears the strategy is to label anyone who noticed how poorly Fetterman did as an ”ableist”, all because they point out his stark deficit from his stroke.
