Country music megastar Toby Keith gave an update on his cancer battle recently, saying that he was optimistic that things are improving.
In one clip from the interview, Keith said, “I’m thinking about getting back to fighting shape, I need a little bit of time to rest up and heal up.”
“It’s pretty debilitating to have to go through all that but as long as things stay hunky-dory, then we’ll look at something good in the future,” Keith explained.
CMT Hot 20 Countdown said in a tweet that included the clip, “You heard it here first! @tobykeith has plans to get back on the road after battling cancer.”

In June, we reported that Keith, who played at Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration, announced that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer and was recovering.
Keith took the stage at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Lexington, Kentucky early last month to perform an hour-long set.
Keith also appeared at the BMI Country Music Awards on Nov. 8 at BMI’s Nashville headquarters and received the BMI Icon award.
During the interview, Keith acknowledged that he was probably “one of the youngest cats” to receive the award.
“It all worked out, in the end, the best it could have,” Keith said in regard to his career.
