Last week President Trump booted Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his brother from their White House positions. Then shortly thereafter Ambassador Gordon Sondland got the boot. According to The Washington Examiner, that was just the beginning. It has been reported that 70 Obama holdovers are getting the boot. The Examiner reported:
Officials confirmed that Trump and national security adviser Robert O’Brien have cut 70 positions inherited from former President Barack Obama, who had fattened the staff to 200.
Many were loaners from other agencies and have been sent back. Others left government work.
The NSC, which is the president’s personal staff, was rocked when a “whistleblower” leveled charges that led to Trump’s impeachment.
Apparently Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has been complaining about President Trump’s firing spree. One Twitter user pointed out that the folks getting fired serve at the pleasure of the President and can be fired at any time. It looks like the Democrats may not be able to impeach President Trump for draining the so-called swamp after all. Gateway Pundit also reported on the news as can bee seen in the tweet below:
Hey @SenSchumer – in case you are having another senior moment; everyone under the Executive Branch works for @realDonaldTrump. Can be fired, anytime.
