After NBA superstar LeBron James made comments that many interpreted as being anti-American in regards to the Brittney Griner situation, Trump-endorsed author Nick Adams had a suggestion for him.
In a tweet, Adams declared, “LeBron James should join Brittney Griner in her Russian jail cell.”

James later attempted to walk back his initial comments in a tweet where he said, “My comments on ‘The Shop’ regarding Brittney Griner wasn’t knocking our beautiful country.”
“I was simply saying how she’s probably feeling emotionally along with so many other emotions, thoughts, etc inside that cage she’s been in for over 100+ days! Long story short #BringHerHome“

Adams weighed in further on the Griner situation with a pair of tweets the following day, taking shots at her over putting herself in it and her past stances.
“I hate to say it, but Brittney Griner committed a crime and she never loved America to begin with,” Adams pointed out in the first tweet.

In the second tweet, Adams wondered, “Is Brittney Griner standing for the Russian National Anthem at her Siberian work camp?”
In 2020, Griner didn’t take the floor for the United States national anthem during the Phoenix Mercury’s debut in the WNBA bubble.
Griner told reporters at the time: “I honestly feel we should not play the national anthem during our season. I think we should take that much of a stand.”
