In a statement made today through his Save America PAC, former President Donald Trump gave his full endorsement for the re-election of Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R), calling him a “great fighter for the people” of the Lonestar state.
“Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick is a great fighter for the people of Texas,” Trump began, before listing accomplishments that he believes show Patrick is the right man for the job.
Trump concluded the statement by exclaiming, “Texans should re-elect him! He is outstanding and has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Patrick is facing off in the 2022 election for the second time against Democrat Mike Collier, who came within 5 percentage points of beating him in 2018.
According to a University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll, Patrick’s approval rating has dropped in recent months and in March 2021, just 37% of Texans said they approved of his performance while the same percentage disapproved.
Last year, we wrote about how Patrick stood up for salon owner Shelley Luther and in a tweet, he said that he would pay her $7k fine and that he would “volunteer to be placed under house arrest” to serve her sentence so she could “go to work and feed her kids.”
In a recent tweet, Patrick said that he would debate “woke” CEO’s after they spoke out against a voting reform bill that Texas is attempting to pass, calling it voter suppression.
Collier quote tweeted Patrick and said, “If Patrick actually wants to debate a businessman, he can and will debate me. As a lifelong businessman, I know what it takes to work with business leaders across the state.”
