Trump Jr. Applauds Elon Musk’s Assertion That Biden is ‘Still Sleeping’ Instead of Acknowledging Fundraising Space Flight

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk set Twitter ablaze today when he responded to a tweet with an assertion that President Joe Biden is “Still sleeping” instead of acknowledging a fundraising space flight.

Donald Trump Jr. applauded the tweet by tweeting a screenshot of it along with “OMG” and three fire emojis. “Also true,” Trump Jr. added and tagged Musk.

The situation began with Twitter user “Electric Cyberfarmer” tweeting out, “The President of the United States has refused to even acknowledge the 4 newest American astronauts who helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars for St. Jude. What’s your theory on why that is?”

Musk responded, “He’s still sleeping.”

Benzinga recently reported that the Inspirration4 spent three days in space and became the first all civilian space mission.

The flight had a goal of raising $200 million to fight childhood cancer and support St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, surpassing that goal last night after Musk pledged $50 million.

The Inspiration4 launched on Wednesday using a SpaceX Falcon 9 and contained four civilian astronauts, Jared Isaacman, the CEO of Shift4Payments (NYSE: FOUR), Sian Proctor, Hayley Arceneaux and Chris Sembroski.

Last night Inspiration4 tweeted, “Happy. Healthy. Home. Welcome back to Earth, @ArceneauxHayley, @rookisaacman, @DrSianProctor, and @ChrisSembroski! #Inspiration4’s mission doesn’t end here — help us reach our $200 million fundraising goal for @StJude.”

Musk responded, “Count me in for $50M.”

From Benzinga:

The space mission was three days, beating the short trips taken by civilians aboard the Virgin Galactic (NYSE: SPCE) and Blue Origin flights featuring founders Sir Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos respectively.

The 590km above Earth altitude reached put the Inspiration4 higher than the International Space Station and marked the highest mark reached by humans in years.

Arceneaux became the youngest American astronaut and the first to fly to space with a prosthetic leg.
