Trump Reportedly Slams Pence, Calls Mitch McConnell a ‘Dumb Son of a B—-‘ at Mar-a-Lago Fundraiser

Earlier tonight we reported that former President Trump had a planned fundraising speech at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, with much of the subject matter already reported in anticipation by many outlets. We have now found out that according to multiple sources including Reuters, Trump went off script and threw his base some red meat.

Apparently, despite Trump saying things are fine between himself and former Vice President Mike Pence, he took a swipe at him tonight. The even bigger bombshell is that he allegedly lashed out at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, by calling him a “dumb son of a bitch”. Shane Goldmacher tweeted:

“New: Former President Trump attacked Mitch McConnell as a “dumb son of a bitch” in his speech at the RNC donor retreat tonight, per an attendee.”

Reuters backed Goldmacher’s tweet, but left out the “dumb” part, saying in part:

McConnell drew Trump’s ire in the aftermath of the election for stating the obvious – that Biden had won the presidency – and the two remain at odds. Parting from the prepared text of his speech, Trump called the senator a “son of a bitch,” an attendee told Reuters.

It was also reported that while Trump didn’t go quite as hard on Pence, he still let people know that he wanted him to do more in the wake of allegations of election fraud by many.

Departing again from his prepared text, Trump said he had spoken to Pence recently and told him he was still disappointed in him, the attendee said. Reported Reuters.

Earlier we reported on the planned event in part:

Former President Trump is expected to speak to GOP donors Saturday night at an event at Mar-A-Lago where he currently resides and has been doing most of his work in the political arena. At this event, he is expected to give a hopeful message for the GOP, and predictions of future victories come in 2022 and 2024.

“JUST IN: Trump predicts that GOP will take legislature in 2022, White House in 2024.”

At the Republican National Committee’s donor summit Saturday, Trump will give a keynote address in which he is expected to claim the GOP will take both the U.S. Congress from the Democrats in 2022 and the White House back in 2024 following the Democrats winning both the White House and the Senate in 2020 while maintaining their majority in the House.

However, the GOP increased its holding in the U.S. House of Representatives by a solid margin and has positioned them to take back the House during an expected red-wave year. If Republicans can nominate a strong candidate like Trump in 2024, they can take back the White House.

We will see if Trump, Pence, or McConnell have any responses to these reports in the near future.
