Trump Says it ‘Makes No Sense’ Why We Spend Big to Defend Borders 7,000 Miles Away but Not Our Own

The 45th President Donald Trump spoke tonight at CPAC and said it “makes no sense” why we spend big to defend borders 7,000 miles away but not our own.

In a clip shared by The Columbia Bugle, Trump explained, “You know we fight and spend billions and billions and even trillions of dollars defending the borders of countries that are 7,000 miles away, but they don’t want to spend any money to defend our border.”

“Makes no sense, does it?” Trump pointed out during the speech at CPAC three-day gathering in Dallas, Texas.

Trump then laid out the plan for if Republicans take back the house as he said, “Next year we have to use the purse strings to send a message to every would-be illegal alien.

“All over the world, if you break into our country illegally, you will be caught, we will detain you, and we will quickly send you back to the place from which you came, or put you in prison immediately,” Trump declared.

NPR today published an article titled, “GOP governors sent buses of migrants to D.C. and NYC — with no plan for what’s next.”

“For months now, the governors of Texas and Arizona have been sending charter buses full of migrants and refugees to Washington, D.C.’s Union Station, just a few blocks from the Capitol building,” the article noted.

Many responded to the article by firing back that it doesn’t seem that the Biden Administration has any plan for the illegal immigrants.

It appears that Trump had great support at the CPAC event as he captured 69% of the vote in a 2024 presidential straw poll.

That number was up from the 59% that he received at a February event in Orlando, Florida, where Ron DeSantis received 28% and in this poll, he was down to 24%.
