Trump Supporters Furious After Lansing, MI Police Decline to Arrest Man Who Allegedly Tried to Drive Into MAGA Christmas Parade

A Christmas-themed Capitol protest targeting Michigan’s COVID-19 restrictions protest was held today in Lansing, Michigan, which was then followed by a MAGA Christmas parade.

Independent journalist Brendan Gutenschwager is there filming it all and at one point, he shared a video and alleged that a man had just tried driving into the parade route.

Gutenschwager then said that “Militia moved in to block his vehicle from getting through.”

The video shows a man driving a van close to the parade route and honking his horn while being surrounded by a group of people including one that is clearly armed and arguing with a woman who appears to be a protester to the parade.

One of the people surrounding the van can be heard saying in a bullhorn, “I don’t know if we were BLM, we’d be beating the car by now.”

Gutenschwager then tweets another video which shows police entering the scene. He said, “Michigan State Police, largely absent from today’s protests until now, arrive to deal with the car stopped & held in the middle of the road along the parade route.”

In another video tweeted by Gutenschwager, he said, “The driver attempted to back away from the scene, before being followed by the crowd and stopped by police.”

Subsequent videos then show that more “Lansing Police arrive to assess whether to arrest the driver of the vehicle.”

After they decline to arrest the driver, Trump supporters, furious, yell, “Michigan State Police are corrupt!” One Trump supporter yells at an officer to “Do your job!”

The incident concludes with police standing between the car and crowd as they let the driver go.
