It was reported today that according to court records, a man accused of leaving voicemail death threats to U.S. House Rep Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was apprehended last week on a federal indictment.
The death threats sent by Eugene Huelsman appear to have fueled by media coverage of the Jan. 6 “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol, as they were transmitted on Jan. 9, just three days later.
According to court records, Huelsman was indicted in May in the Northern District of Florida on one felony count of making a threat to injure the person of another, but with his whereabouts unknown at the time, a judge sealed the indictment until authorities tracked down Huelsman in California and apprehended him.
Fox News’ Tucker Carlson discussed the story on his show tonight with White House Correspondent Kevin Corke, who revealed that Huelsman had a history working in the media as a cameraman.
Corke noted that Huelsman “is a long time member of the media, having worked as a camera operator for ABC, NBC, and CNN.”
“Oh, member of Congress threatened with death along with death by a former CNN employee,” Carlson deadpanned after Corke announced the revelations.
Carlson had earlier mentioned Jan. 6 in conjunction with the situation as he pointed out that the Department of Justice had launched hundreds and hundreds of criminal investigations into what transpired that day, but failed to arrest Huelsman, until now.
Corke brought up the 2017 Congressional baseball field shooting where U.S. House Rep Steve Scalise (R-LA) nearly lost his life.
The recording was played by Corke as well and in it, Huelsman can be heard telling Gaetz, “I’m coming for him, he’s gonna f*cking die…I’m gonna f*cking kill him…Watch your back, I’m coming for you. I’m gonna put a bullet in you and I’m gonna put a bullet in one of your f*cking kids too.”
The man who threatened to kill Matt Gaetz was arrested.
