UPDATE 11:02 EST: Terry McAuliffe has conceded.
Virginia has been called in favor of Republicans. Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General and the House of Delegates are now all in Republican control after last nights election results. A Republican has not won the Governor’s seat since 2009 elections.
Many are elated to see Virginia flip red, as it was viewed as not a purple state, but a blue state. With so many wins for Republicans last night it seems to be back as a swing state.
Twitter users shared there enthusiasm over the results.

Democrats were nervous about the Governors race in Virginia. Former Governor Terry McAuliffe had big names in the Democrat party come out and stump for him including, former President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Harris may now regret some of the things she said while stumping for McAuliffe. Harris stated the obvious while rallying for McAuliffe saying, “What happens in Virginia will in large part determine what happens in 2022, 2024, and on”. Arkansas GOP shared her speech with, “Never thought weâd say this, but we hope sheâs right. #TakeBacktheHouse #VirginiaGoesRed #thisdidntagewell“

The Virginia election results are encouraging to many Republicans, across the country, who felt disfranchised after the 2020 elections. Nick Karavedas tweeted from Huntington Beach, CA. “Iâm here because of youâ – Winsome Sears Proud night to be a Conservative #VirginiaGoesRed“

With wins for Republicans coming in from across the country last nights elections are a referendum on the Biden Administration. Joe Biden has been in office for less than a year and more of the country disapproves of his leadership and the direction he is taking this country than approves. As Kamala put it, “What happens in Virginia will in large part determine what happens in 2022, 2024, and on”. Republicans have to stay motivated to stay on top, and focus on the things that brought people out to these elections, election integrity, parental involvement in schools, transgenders in bathrooms and fighting back on CRT.
