“Great Value” brand is associated with discounts, value, or “knock off” sometimes. Even though we feel the owner, Walmart may dispute that it is of any lower quality than any other brand, culturally speaking this is how things work.
So it is of no surprise that the “woke” crowd was angry that the Juneteenth and “Pride Month” ice creams stealthily put out under Walmart’s “Great Value” brand were an epic fail.
It appears the Juneteenth one at least, is now being pulled from shelves, shortly after we could not even get an answer from Walmart as to whether or not the product existed.
Before the apology, Walmart implied that if not on their website, a product isn’t for sale, in the email they sent to us as you can see below. This was not the case as Walmart would not apologize for an item that never existed.
Earlier we reported that many Twitter and Facebook users were furious.
The left was mad that it wasn’t culturally sensitive to put Juneteenth under the “Great Value” brand and that there are other “Black-owned” ice cream products that deserved the sales promotion in their view.
The right was mad about yet another politically “woke” product. It is likely that the left’s anger is what made Walmart cave in our view.
“Share and celebrate African-American culture, emancipation and enduring hope,” the product label read. https://t.co/XxjZPxwiDt

Fox 10 reported that Walmart is reviewing other items to potentially pull as well. Many are mad that Juneteenth is being commercialized with other products as well, such as party plates and all kinds of gimmicks sold at Walmart.
“Juneteenth holiday marks a celebration of freedom and independence,” the company said in a statement to FOX Television Stations. “However, we received feedback that a few items caused concern for some of our customers and we sincerely apologize. We are reviewing our assortment and will remove items as appropriate.”
This story will have updates as this is a newly developing situation.
Earlier today Twitter user @KevChestnut went to his local Walmart and made a video that the Juneteenth ice cream was in fact for sale.
“The Juneteenth ice cream is still on shelves at Walmart”
