Gene Weingarten, who himself got eaten alive by cancel culture for making a joke about Indian Cuisine, is now back at it again. This time, he is insulting those who are not vaccinated for Covid-19.
Although angering the PC police by insulting Indian cuisine isn’t the same as trashing those who made the personal choice for whatever reason they chose to not get a Covid-19 vaccination, He’s certainly pushing the envelope with the wording he’s using.
Previously we were, as Americans under the assumption that vaccines would not be mandatory. Although they technically still aren’t, the Biden administration is making various moves to coerce people into getting one under the threat of losing their job.
Additionally, many public places are requiring proof of vaccination, such as concerts. In California, schools will be mandating vaccines in many cases. This isn’t the “not required” Americans though it was going to be. Now, some pundits are pushing the envelope, suggesting even further penalties for unvaccinated folks.
Gene Weingarten of the Washington Post tweeted out in question form the implication that he thinks people who haven’t gotten vaccinated should perhaps be criminally prosecuted. It’s hard to tell if this is “just a joke”, but in our view, it’s way over the line.
“Is there a point at which the “unvaccinated” need to be prosecuted?”
Is there a point at which the “unvaccinated” need to be prosecuted?

As the saying goes, some things have a slippery slope. Let’s hope things don’t get out of hand (any more than they are in our opinion). There was much pushback on Twitter for this tweet:
Israel already defines anyone who took their second jab more than 6 months ago as unvaccinated, the NBA is doing more or less the same, France does so for 65+, and the Biden admin is prepping the public for perpetual boosters. Will the un-boosted need to be prosecuted too? https://t.co/49hMS8fWlm

Is there a point at which @geneweingarten and the @washingtonpost defect to Cuba to join their Stalinist fellow travelers? https://t.co/Q2FE5JgrjW

For being born unvaccinated? Sounds like discrimination to me. https://t.co/KtMPKIZDpq

Try it, bro. You think the backlash against radical leftists in Virginia was a tidal wave? Keep coming for our kids & for the unvaxxed. Every elected position in the country will turn red thanks to you psychopaths. https://t.co/yEovNYQyOP

People like this weren’t broken by COVID.

They were just waiting for an excuse to unleash their inner tyrants. https://t.co/Zf6SmSyguT
The function of the air quotes around “unvaccinated” is to make clear that vaccination status is a pretext. They demonstrated outgroup status and now need to be punished https://t.co/72zSzrGqGI

We assume Weingarten’s tweet was purposeful, to get a rise out of people. That doesn’t make it ok to make such wild implications.
The Washington Post is owned by Jeff Bezos, the second richest man in the world. They have a lot of influence and should be less irresponsible in our view. Aaron Rodgers, Nicki Minaj, and others have questioned the vaccine and/or mandates.
We aren’t health experts and won’t make any medical claims, but they’re certainly are a lot of people on both sides of this issue. Always ask your doctor what to do with your personal health.
