Yesterday President Trump held an event promoting a $19 billion aid package for farmers and ranchers, and during the event, he spoke to some farmers from Virginia.
White House reporter Weijia Jiang, who has previously insinuated that the President was racist for asking her to direct her questions to China regarding the testing and people still dying from Coronavirus. Highlighted comment the President made during the event in a tweet. Trump stated he will be going after “crazy Governor Northam” and told the Virginia farmer There will be “no one to guard your potatoes.” which may be where the reporter got off track, see her tweet below:
The President is hosting an event w/ farmers and discussing a food relief initiative.

After a speaker from Virginia wrapped up, the President attacked the Democratic Governor and warned they are going after second amendment rights: There will be “no one to guard your potatoes.”
Trump was speaking to a farmer from Virginia’s Eastern Shore David Hickman, who is a potato farmer. Hickman’s farm will be participating in the ‘Farmers to Families Food Box program’. Hickman stated “This program is going to help tremendously with the movement of potatoes this summer… It’s certainly going to impact the Virginia potato business… Regionally, it’s a big business in our area, called the Eastern Shore.”
Trump asked some questions of Hickman, and Hickman invited the President out to his farm. Trump then went after Virginia’s Governor, who has pushed many radically left ideas including, gun control, transgender agenda, and even hinted that he supported some post birth abortion.
“We’re going after Virginia, with your crazy governor. They want to take your second amendment away. You’ll have nobody guarding your potatoes.” Trump said.
Northam quickly took to Twitter to respond to the remarks by Trump tweeting, “I grew up on a Virginia farm, Mr. President — our potatoes are fine.” then hitting back at the president in the same tweet with “I suggest you stop taking hydroxychloroquine.”
I grew up on a Virginia farm, Mr. President—our potatoes are fine. And as the only medical doctor among our nation’s governors, I suggest you stop taking hydroxychloroquine.
