‘Whoopi Will Be Back in Two Weeks,’ Joy Behar Declares on ‘The View’ Before Quickly Moving On

Down to four co-hosts due to the unprecedented suspension of Whoopi Goldberg from the program over her Holocaust comments, Joy Behar made a quick note of her absence at the beginning of the show.

“You all saw the news. Whoopi will be back in two weeks. Ok,” Behar declared before moving on quickly.

Conservative Daniel Bostic said of the quick reference, “They’re just going through the motions as if they wouldn’t permanently ban, suspend, cancel, attack, and degrade any conservative who said what she said. They’re laughing at us.”

The Daily Beast reported yesterday, following the suspension, that multiple sources said that Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro are furious with the network’s decision to suspend Goldberg.

Navarro told the outlet, “I love Whoopi Goldberg. I love ‘The View.’ This was an incredibly unfortunate incident.”

“Whoopi is a lifelong ally to the Jewish community. She is not an antisemite. Period. I am sad. And I have nothing else to say,” Navarro insisted.

U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) weighed in today on the suspension and suggested that she’d like to see it be permanent.

“Here’s to hoping ABC’s fifteen days to slow the spread of Whoopi Goldberg lasts as long as COVID’s has,” Boebert said in a tweet.

As we reported yesterday, ABC News President Kim Godwin announced in a statement that Whoopi Goldberg has been suspended for two weeks from “The View” over her Holocaust comments.

Godwin explained in the statement:

“Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments. “While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family and communities.”

Many have called for Goldberg to be fired like Rosanne Barr was previously including Donald Trump Jr.

Trump Jr. asked in a tweet yesterday, “Why is it that Rosanne (a Jewish woman) gets canceled for off color remarks but Whoopi’s gets a total pass for antisemitism and downplaying the Holocaust?”

“I can’t help but notice that only people on the right face consequences for their mistakes,” Trump Jr. lamented.

Insiders at ABC were reportedly wanting her fired as well over the controversy.
