Last night, ABC News aired George Stephanopoulos’ exclusive interview with President Joe Biden about Afghanistan. Stephanopoulos confronts Biden about the images of Afghans stuffed into a C-17 and the infamous images of Afgahnies falling off of a plane to their deaths. Biden, seemingly irritated with the questioning, interrupted Stephanopoulos with a dismissal of the chaos, “that was 4-5 days ago”.
RNC Research quickly pointed out the president’s callous error in a tweet with the clip of the exchange. “Biden dismisses Afghans falling out of planes by saying “that was 4-5 days ago.” It was 2 days ago.”

The entire U.S. Government seems to be surprised at the rate that the Taliban took back Afghanistan. While the Taliban was advancing in Afghanistan Biden decided to he needed a vacation and headed to Camp David. However, Monday with the aforementioned images in the news, circulating on social media Biden came back to deliver his remarks on Afghanistan.
Biden made sure to point fingers at the Afghan military and former President Trump. Biden blamed the Trump era agreement with the Taliban as something he had to uphold, even though the Taliban had violated the agreement more than once.
This massive blunder of a pull-out has left many questioning Biden’s abilities as president. We reported previously on Senator Scott’s (R-FL) called on Democrats to exercise the 25th Amendment.
“With all of this Republican Senator Rick Scott asks, “Is Joe Biden capable of discharging the duties of his office, or has the time come to exercise the provisions of the 25th Amendment?”. Scott had retweeted a post from a few days before citing many of the president’s failings including the U.S. southern border crisis, inflation, and the U.S. debt.
August 12 Scott tweeted, “Inflation is raging. The debt ceiling expired & U.S. debt is headed to $45 TRILLION. Kabul is falling to the Taliban & encounters in the #BidenBorderCrisis just hit a 20 YEAR HIGH. Democrats control the House, Senate & @WhiteHouse. What in the world is Joe Biden doing?”
August 16th Scott added, “After the disastrous events in Afghanistan, we must confront a serious question: Is Joe Biden capable of discharging the duties of his office, or has time come to exercise the provisions of the 25th Amendment?”

The 25th amendment allows the vice president along with a majority of principal officers of the executive departments to declare the president unfit in a written document sent to congress. The vice president immediately becomes ‘acting president’. It remains this way until congress settles it to either reinstate the president’s powers or move forward with impeachment. The vice president remains ‘acting president’ until congress makes a move.”
Americans do want our military out of Afghanistan but how our exit from the country was orchestrated devolved into utter chaos. Thousands of Americans are still in Afghanistan while our military works on getting Afghan refugees out of the country. No solid plan has been put forth on how they will be getting Americans out of the country.
This has been a total failure of the Biden administration. It has been reported that China has pointed to this withdrawal to intimidate Taiwan. China has called the United States weak and unreliable, this is how our military appears on the global stage.
