Two days ago, the Intercept released an article titled, “Time’s Up Said It Could Not Fund a #MeToo Allegation Against Joe Biden, Citing Its Nonprofit Status and His Presidential Run.” The article detailed how former staffer, Tara Reade, wanted to tell her story of sexual assault by the presidential candidate.
Yesterday, she told her story to Katie Halper on Soundcloud. Reade says she worked for Biden in the early 1990s and asserts that she was unambiguously assaulted by him in 1993. According to Reade, he began kissing her without her permission, pushed her against a wall, reached under her skirt, and penetrated her with his fingers.
“He said ‘come on man, I heard you liked me,'” Reade recalled to Halper in the interview. “For me, it was like, everything shattered. I looked up to him, he was like my father’s age, he was this champion of women’s rights, in my eyes. I couldn’t believe it was happening. It was surreal.”
On Twitter, Biden acted like nothing had happened. He talked up his campaign and bashed the President, saying, “It’s hard to believe this has to be said, but if I’m elected president, I will always lead the way with science. I will listen to the experts and heed their advice. I will do the opposite of what we’re seeing Donald Trump do every day.”

Later, he shared a CNBC video and claimed that, “The Trump Administration misled the American people.”

And then tonight, he continued the finger pointing, “President Trump is not responsible for the coronavirus, but he bears full responsibility for the slow and uncoordinated response. The harsh reality is that at least 3 million people now don’t have jobs because he didn’t do his job when it mattered.”

It’ll be interesting to see if he chooses to address the allegations or if his campaign advises him to keep quiet and expect that it will go away. He and his party were very vocal in trying to hold Justice Kavanaugh for allegations that were even older than these so we’ll see if they will attempt to hold him accountable in the same manner.
