Lauren Boebert Tells Hillary Clinton That Citing a Vanity Fair Article Won’t ‘Keep Yourself Out of Jail’

UPDATE: Lead Stories has fact-checked the Fox News article on the allegations against Hillary Clinton.

We reported yesterday that Hillary Clinton referenced a Vanity Fair article to defend herself against the latest allegations that have been highlighted by Fox News and the 45th President Donald Trump.

U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) responded to Clinton’s tweet by mocking her choice of publications to cite.

“Linking to Vanity Fair to try and keep yourself out of jail is a complete fail,” Boebert declared in a quote tweet of Clinton.

As we reported yesterday, Clinton insisted in the tweet, “Trump & Fox are desperately spinning up a fake scandal to distract from his real ones. So it’s a day that ends in Y.”

“The more his misdeeds are exposed, the more they lie. For those interested in reality, here’s a good debunking of their latest nonsense,” Clinton claimed.

On Tuesday, Clinton ducked a reporter when they confronted her about the spying allegations and continued to stonewall questions later the same day as she and Chelsea emerged from a Filipino restaurant in Queens after approximately three hours during which they appeared to be filming.

Since that tweet, Clinton has retweeted a tweet from MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan where he also asserted that Fox News is not properly reporting the Durham filing and shared a clip from his show.

“Fox claims the ‘liberal’ media is ignoring the John Durham court filing story,” Hasan noted.

Hasan then suggested, “But Fox itself is totally misrepresenting the filing & misreporting the story. I went through Watters’, Carlson’s, Hannity’s, & Ingraham’s false claims on air & debunked them.”
