Hillary Clinton References Vanity Fair Article, Accuses ‘Trump & Fox’ of ‘Desperately Spinning Up a Fake Scandal’

Hillary Clinton finally responded to the latest John Durham news today by referencing a Vanity Fair article that attempted to make light of his latest filing and the ensuing coverage as well as Trump’s response.

Clinton suggested in a tweet, “Trump & Fox are desperately spinning up a fake scandal to distract from his real ones. So it’s a day that ends in Y.”

“The more his misdeeds are exposed, the more they lie. For those interested in reality, here’s a good debunking of their latest nonsense,” Clinton claimed.

The Vanity Fair article that Clinton shared referenced the New York Times for their information and said that “Neither Robert Durham nor John Durham nor anyone else for that matter had actually provided evidence of any such crime, let alone even suggested it.”

After suggesting that Trump didn’t “fact check” a Fox News story on the situation, Vanity Fair explained “the actual reason that the ‘LameStream’ media hadn’t covered the story was likely because, as the Times notes: (1) Sussmann’s conversation with the CIA had already been reported last October (2) Durham never once said anything about the White House being ‘infiltrate[d]’ (3) the special counsel also never claimed the Clinton campaign had paid Joffe’s company and (4) perhaps most importantly, ‘the filing never said the White House data that came under scrutiny was from the Trump era.’ In fact, lawyers for the data scientist who helped develop the data analysis in question, say this happened during— wait for it—Barack Obama’s presidency.”

Former Republican Congressional candidate Buzz Patterson replied to Clinton, “Look at Hill using a Vanity Fair article to support her espionage. How the mighty ARE falling.”

In the past few days, many have been pointing out an October 2016 tweet from Clinton where she said, “Computer scientists have apparently uncovered a covert server linking the Trump Organization to a Russian-based bank.”

A statement from Jake Sullivan asserted at the time that there was a “secret hotline” covertly communicating from the Trump Tower to Russia.

Durham has accused Sussman of working on behalf of the Clinton campaign when he scheduled a meeting with the FBI.
