Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) jumped on the anti-America bandwagon this Fourth of July and decided to drop her opinion off at the Twitter pool. Waters starts off her tweet by acknowledging yesterday was July 4th. She then jumps straight to the Declaration of Independence which says all men are created equal. The congresswoman asks, “Equal to what? What men? Only white men?”.
Waters goes on, “Isn’t it something that they wrote in 1776 when African Americans were enslaved? They weren’t thinking about us then, but we’re thinking about us now!” Waters’ tweet is much in line with Representative Cori Bush’s Fourth of July tweet, in which she claimed the Fourth of July is for White people and Black people aren’t free.
Waters then added to her tweet, “Further, the Dec. of Ind. says we hold these truths to be “self-evident”… yet: – 17 states have enacted voter suppression laws – Supreme Court gutted Sec. 5 of the Voting Rights Act – George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland, Tamir Rice Need I say more? #July4“.
Further, the Dec. of Ind. says we hold these truths to be “self-evident”… yet:

When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they’re referring to is for white people.

This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free.
After the 2020 election, many states have moved to make their elections more secure, and the state of Arizona banned ballot harvesting. The Supreme Court rule in favor of Arizona when challenges to the new law were brought forth. Waters lists off the names of black people who she believes were murdered by police officers for the color of their skin.
Back in April Waters told protesters to get more confrontational if they didn’t get the verdict they wanted in the Derek Chauvin case.
Maxine also issued a statement after Juneteeth was made a federal holiday saying in part, “While this is certainly welcomed, it comes 156 years late… As we celebrate the passage of this legislation, let us be clear that we will not be distracted or appeased”.
Waters’ Fourth of July tweet only shows her disdain for America and its History. She will not stop fighting to further her agenda.
It is a sad thing to see on the holiday that celebrates all American’s freedom from a tyrannical government.
