The White Coat Waste Project (WCWP) is a group that aims to prevent cruel taxpayer-funded experiments on animals. Their report on this matter states, “The objective of this study is to evaluate the potential adverse cardiovascular effects that may result when [redacted] (test article) and cocaine (interaction article) are administered together to male Beagle dogs.”
The public policy and communications manager at WCWP, Devin Murphy, told Fox News Digital, “Taxpayers should not be forced to foot the multi-million-dollar bill for wasteful and cruel ‘Coke Hound’ experiments in which beagle puppies are injected with cocaine just to fulfill burdensome and outdated FDA red tape. The NIH is addicted to spending and it’s time we got this waste and abuse off of the taxpayer’s back.”
The NIH and NIDA defended themselves saying, “NIH is committed to ensuring the welfare of animals used in research and, where possible, reducing their use. The proposed use of animals in research is evaluated during peer review for both contract and grant proposals. Applications submitted to NIH, including to NIDA, proposing to use animals, go through a rigorous review process to assess their scientific and technical merit, which includes an assessment of the applicants’ plans for the protection of research animals.”
This comes as we reported last year something similar occurring, “Fauci’s division of the National Institute of Health partly funded a lab that used cruel experiments using dogs that involved torturing them.
‘JUST IN – Fauci’s NIH division partly funded a lab to drug dogs and ‘lock their heads in cages filled with hungry sandflies so that the insects could eat them alive.‘ “
The Hill reported, ‘House members, most of whom are Republicans, want Fauci to explain himself in response to allegations brought on by the White Coat Waste Project that involve drugging puppies.’ “
