Saagar Enjeti, a writer for The Hill, describes Fox News’ Tucker Carlson’s opening monologue from last night perfectly in a tweet. “Richard Burr, Call your office, Tucker Carlson just flayed you on life TV”

Tucker Carlson just flayed you on live TV
Tucker opened up last night’s show hitting hard on Republican Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina, who is the Chairmen of the Senate intelligence committee. Burr sold off over a million dollars worth of stocks on February 13th. This dump came after a briefing on Coronavirus. After dumping the stocks, Burr publicly talked up America’s ability to handle a health crisis. In a private meeting three weeks ago he compared Coronavirus to the 1918 Spanish flu, which devastated the world. See Tucker’s opening monologue below in a tweet from The Columbia Bugle:
Tucker Carlson Destroying Senator Burr

"For a public servant its pretty hard to imagine many things more immoral than doing this. Richard Burr had critical information that might have helped the people he is sworn to protect. But he hid that information & helped only himself." pic.twitter.com/RJydR6jveD
Tucker also had Senator Loeffler from Georgia on his show last night. She also dumped stocks after the briefing on Coronavirus. Tucker gave her the chance to defend her actions. Loeffler believes her actions are justified, Loeffler states she has no say in the buys and sales of her positions. She finds out about the trades in a report weeks after the fact.
Tucker then played a video from Senator Loeffler’s twitter, which can be seen below, including the caption “The consumer is strong, the economy is strong, & jobs are growing, which puts us in the best economic position to tackle #COVID19 & keep Americans safe.” This video was made after the briefing on Coronavirus, and after she received the report on the trades in question.
Concerned about #coronavirus? Remember this:

At the end of the segment, Tucker asks her if she thinks she can keep her Senate seat that she is currently being primaried by Rep. Doug Collins of Georgia. You can see the full interaction below:
When Tucker was finished with Loeffler he then brought on the author of ‘Profiles in Corruption’ Peter Schweizer. Schweizer has spent much time profiling corruption in government. In the second tweet from The Columbia Bugle below, Schweizer compares Burr’s actions to a Vice Chairman of a company selling off half of his net worth, on negative inside information. Burr says he is open to an ethics investigation. Schweizer states, it’s like “getting into trouble and saying you are going to have your family look into it”. The clip ends with Schweizer saying, “frankly I think he needs to resign and be prosecuted “

Peter: "Nothing is going to come clear from the Senate Ethics Committee. It needs to be looked at by the Department of Justice & frankly I think he needs to resign and be prosecuted." pic.twitter.com/GfT1vkhBQU
Tucker makes his position clear saying, “I don’t have any long-standing vendetta against Senator Burr. He is a republican, I generally vote republican, I kinda agree with him on most things. Nothing personal, but this seems like flat out corruption it seems immoral to me. Am I misreading this?”
Burr made the announcement in 2016 that he would not seek a fourth term in office. It does appear that Burr will resign, he has said he welcomes an ethics committee review, that seems unlikely to have any real ramifications for the Senator. Many others are also calling for Burr to resign, Tucker Carlson the loudest among them.
