Vindicated: Citing FBI Misconduct, Michael Flynn Charges to be Dismissed by DOJ

Following the recent release of documents that showed FBI misconduct, the DOJ has moved to dismiss its criminal case against Michael Flynn.

Earlier it was announced that Brandon Van Grack, a top Justice Department prosecutor and former member of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team, was no longer handling the case of former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

In a filing in U.S. District Court in Washington today, federal prosecutors asked a judge to toss out with prejudice the single count of making false statements to the FBI.

The DOJ said the government “concluded that the interview of Mr. Flynn was untethered to, and unjustified by, the FBI‘s counterintelligence investigation” and that “it is not persuaded that the January 24, 2017 interview was conducted with a legitimate investigative basis.”

Non-profit veteran group Code of Vets celebrated the decision, saying, “This is a monumental moment” and that “JUSTICE PREVAILED.”

Our brother in arms @GenFlynn IS FREE. The Justice Department is dropping the case. This is a monumental moment for the General, his family and his fierce attorney @SidneyPowell1 JUSTICE PREVAILED
