In November following the arrest of Darrel Brooks Jr. 39, for allegedly driving his vehicle through a Christmas parade and over multiple people in Waukesha, WI. Brooks was originally charged with 6 counts of homicide. Today 71 other charges were brought against Brooks.
After plowing through the crowd Brooks was arrested outside of a home near the parade route where he was trying to get help to get away from the scene.
In total Brooks is being charged with, six counts of first-degree intentional homicide, 61 counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety- use of a dangerous weapon, and six counts of hit and run- homicide according to the court filing.
Not much has made it onto the mainstream news since the original incident. It seems after the profile of the alleged attacker was revealed it no longer fit the mainstream narrative.
Senators Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) even put out a joint statement asking “outside groups or individuals” not to politicize the event, claiming they were trying to exploit the tragedy.
At first, it was very unclear as to what happened that night as video from the parade showed a red vehicle plowing down parade participants. At one point the driver seemingly hesitates and then appears to accelerate over more people.
Six individuals died as a result of the incident, one young child and 5 adults. It remains to be seen what will come of all of this. It appears that Brooks was out on an unjustifiably low bail for another incident.
Those who in reverse race roles have run to crucify White suspects are going in the opposite direction in this case where the suspect is black.
