Florida State Representative and Pro-Trump Republican Anthony Sabatini made a humorous statement on Twitter joking about having a travel ban that stops Democrats from entering the state of Florida citing, “to follow the science and protect our state’s public health.” Below is his tweet from this afternoon.
I strongly SUPPORT a Travel Ban on Democrats coming to Florida—we have to follow the science and protect our state’s public health. #SaferApart

The Sunshine State, which seems to be trending Republican with each election cycle has faced criticism from the Biden administration and Democrats for their refusal to have a state-wide mask mandate; while also allowing places to open to full capacity with no masks or social distancing.
After a report that came out from the Miami Herald that asserts the Biden administration may put travel restrictions on certain states which includes Florida. The Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis fired back saying, “any attempt to restrict or lockdown Florida by the federal government would be an attack on our state, done purely for political purposes”.
He followed that by saying, “If anyone tries to harm Floridians or target us, we will respond very swiftly,”. He also said he will oppose it “100%”. The tweet from Rep. Sabatini came after this statement.
There seems to be a feud going on between those who want to be able to choose to live their life without masks and those who don’t want anyone maskless in public. Many who push for maks mandates see others maskless, they get very upset. Florida is the ideal place for many Republicans to be as the state allows you to choose to wear a mask and social distance if they so choose to, something that the Democrats seem to dislike.
