We don’t like to do this type of story very often but it appeared for us far too egregious to ignore. After today’s tragic death of conservative icon Rush Limbaugh, which was subsequently spoken about by former President Trump on Fox News, who was good friends with Limbaugh, many left-wingers predictably took to Twitter to celebrate.
National File did an extensive report that you can read here covering a few of them, and mentioning how some horrible hashtags started trending such as “#GoodRiddance” and “#RotInHell”. One left-wing journalist made a subtle jab about Rush’s death that we retweeted, thinking perhaps the tweet would be deleted or explained once the journalist, Natalie Shure, realized the err of her ways.
But no, Shure, who claims to be a freelance writer not affiliated with any of the outlets she brags about writing for, proceeded to double down on her rejoicing of Rush Limbaugh’s death. She even recognized that she was making people angry, and posted a screenshot of a message we wouldn’t approve of ourselves, but highlighting the situation at hand nonetheless.
The initial tweet read:
“However you feel about Rush Limbaugh, you’ve gotta admit that he’s dead”

Shure then took to Twitter to remind people that she didn’t care about backlash for her behavior because she’s “freelance”.
In case you weren’t sure of her intentions she made it clear by saying “haha I’m honored” underneath someone’s tweet saying that it was “delightful”.

She had also tweeted this shortly beforehand:
“The Republican Party could never have garnered so many votes for unfettered oligarchy without a ruthlessly vile propaganda arm, and few people were as central to that project as Rush Limbaugh”

On her personal website she brags about all the different media companies she has been affiliated with:
“Natalie Shure is a Los Angeles-based writer and researcher whose work focuses on history, health, and politics. Her writing has appeared in The Nation, The Atlantic, BuzzFeed, In These Times, Slate, Jacobin, The Daily Beast, Los Angeles Times, Salon, Pacific Standard, New York Observer, Metro, Democratic Left, and more. She is currently the Head of Research for Adam Ruins Everything on TruTV.”
Since she is freelance and allegedly does not work for any of the above companies, we wonder if any of them will allow her to continue to freelance, and/or if they will disavow her mocking a man who just died of cancer. Time will tell, stay tuned for updates.
Previously today National File reported:
“The death of radio pioneer and legend Rush Limbaugh was announced on his show today by his wife, Kathryn. Almost instantly, Twitter allowed and seemingly promoted the hashtags “Good Riddance” and “Rot In Hell”, promoting them on the sidebar of the website’s trending section.
While conservatives of all stripes recognized the loss of a radio legend who helped shape the modern Republican Party with his voice and criticisms, Twitter and leftists celebrated the death of a the 70 year old.”
