It is being reported that U.S. House Liz Cheney (R-WY) is removed from the leadership position of conference chair by Rep Lauren Boebert, (R-CO). She tweeted the news out this morning, quite possibly from the House floor.
“Liz Cheney has been removed as Conference Chair.”, she proclaimed via her official government Twitter account.

Many may wonder if this is what Cheney wanted as some kind of stunt. For all we know, she could be looking to join the neocon moderates who have a home in the Democrat party. Sadly, too many of them have had a home with the GOP for far too long as well, but perhaps that will be changing.
Cheny dug in her heels in a video clip from Fox News as tweeted by Aaron Rupar, lamenting former President Trump and reminding the world that his bold leadership apparently causes her to lose sleep at night to this day, in our words. What she actually said:
“Liz Cheney immediately after she was ousted from House leadership: “I will do everything I can to ensure that the former president never again gets anywhere near the Oval Office.””

AP reported that Republicans removed her as “punishment” for “repeatedly” rebuking “former President Donald Trump for his false claims of election fraud and his role in fomenting the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.” It is being reported that U.S. House Rep Elise Stefanik will likely replace Cheney as the number three house Republican.
As far as votes go, Stefanick isn’t much more Conservative, but she has been a cheerleader for Trump, which has apparently been enough to keep the Trump wing of the GOP happy. The other factor to consider is that Trump remains popular with voters and many elected officials know that. Cheney comes from the old guard and is in good company with Democrats, and Republicans like former President George W Bush as well.
AP also said:
She has been Congress’ highest-ranking Republican woman and a daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, and her demotion was the latest evidence that challenging Trump can be career-threatening.
Earlier today Trump had this to say:
“The Republicans in the House of Representatives have a great opportunity today to rid themselves of a poor leader, a major Democrat talking point, a warmonger, and a person with absolutely no personality or heart. As a representative of the Great State of Wyoming, Liz Cheney is bad for our Country and bad for herself. Almost everyone in the Republican Party, including 90% of Wyoming, looks forward to her ouster—and that includes me!”
