Chris Cuomo Outed For Giving ‘Inappropriate’ Advice to Gov. Cuomo on Sexual Harassment Scandal

In March, we reported that as sexual harassment allegations against New York Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo mounted, his brother, CNN host Chris Cuomo issued a bizarre statement on his show.

Chris Cuomo said at the time, “You’re straight with me, I’ll be straight with you. Obviously, I’m aware of what’s going on with my brother and obviously, I cannot cover it because he is my brother.”

Today, it was outed that Chris Cuomo instead gave his brother “inappropriate” advice on the scandal instead.

Specifically, his employer admitted that he participated in strategy sessions Gov Cuomo on how to handle the sexual harassment allegations made against him, calling their star anchor’s involvement “inappropriate.”

Fox News reported that CNN acknowledged Chris Cuomo’s involvement but said he would not be disciplined for his conduct.

Many on Twitter weighed in, including journalist Megyn Kelly, who had questions regarding the situation as she asked, “Why does CNN think it’s no big deal that Chris Cuomo strategized against at least 7 women publicly accusing the NYS Guv of sex. harassment & assault?”

Kelly added, “How would you feel if you were a female staffer on his team? What mattered wasn’t the truth, it was protecting the family, period.”

Fox News weather anchor Janice Dean lamented the lack of discipline from CNN and said, “At the very least @ChrisCuomo should be suspended. But these Cuomo people seem to get away with pretty much anything.”

Even contributing editor to the Daily Beast, Justin Baragona, condemned Chris Cuomo for the situation as he opined, “Fox News is going to run buck wild with the Chris Cuomo story…and they absolutely should.”

“If the shoe were on the other foot, CNN would air breathless coverage about this inexcusable breach of journalistic ethics, especially if Fox didn’t discipline the host at all,” Baragona poined out.
