Far-left actress Susan Sarandon made a bizarre claim on Tuesday as she took to Twitter to call the NYPD funeral of fallen Detective Jason Rivera an example of “fascism”.

Sarandon retweeted a tweet that says “I’m gonna tell my kids this is what fascism looks like” and she added her own caption to it, “So, if all these cops weren’t needed for CRIME that day, doesn’t that mean they aren’t needed ANY day.” She faced backlash for what many saw as a ridiculous and outright disrespectful tweet.

The Police Benevolent Association released a statement going after her comments saying, “This is what privilege looks like: a wealthy actress, safe in her bubble, mocking heroes & making light of the crisis that cops are battling alongside our communities.”
“Of all the days for @SusanSaraOf all the days for @SusanSarandon to share her true feelings towards police, she picks the day we bury our fallen brother to make such inflammatory & brainless comments. When you spend more time hating on cops than you do your own career, it’s no wonder why you’re a D-list actor,” the National Fraternal Order of Police wrote on Twitter.

Sarandon has yet to delete the tweet or apologize for the insensitive words as the Riveria family and others mourn the loss of this fallen hero who was killed on the job. Both sides on the political spectrum mourned his loss but far-left radical Sarandon has yet to give condolences to the Rivera family and even attacked the funeral precision calling it an example of “fascism”.
