Alyssa Farah Griffin Challenges Sunny Hostin on Comparing ‘White Women Voters’ to ‘Cockroaches’, Show Quickly Sent to Break

Alyssa Farah Griffin got under co-host of “The View” Sunny Hostin’s skin. On Tuesday’s show of “The View”, Whoopi ended up sending the show to a commercial break as she had enough of the pair sparing.

The women were discussing the midterm elections as Tuesday is election day. They were discussing what the House and Senate could look like if there were a red wave today. Farah Griffin expects that Republicans will be very successful in this election.

Farah Griffin starts, “This won’t be a popular opinion at the table, but I worry that some of the far left has become so negative in how they talk about the other party.”

Hostin sneered and jumped in, “Who are these far-left people? ’cause you can both sides this.” Farah Griffin panicky tries to explain, but Hostin just keeps going with, “The far left did not storm the capitol.”

Farah Griffin then reminds Hostin, “Last week you called white Republican women cockroaches.”

Hostin directs her finger to Farah Griffin disputing what she said with, “actually I didn’t.” Griffin then continues, “you said they’re acting like cockroaches.” Hostin wags her finger at her co-host.

“Let me answer that,” Hostin retohrts. At this point, Whoopi jumps in yelling “Here’s what I’m going to ask you to do!” Both of the women look like they are being scolded by their grandmother.

“Tone it down a bit because I can’t anything anyone is saying,” Whoopi asks of them.

Sounding like a tattle tale Hostin whines, “She just said I called white women roaches, which my mother’s a white woman so I would never say that. Second of all what I used was a metaphor, really more of a simile, and I said white women Republicans, I just read a poll, suburban are now voting Republican that is like roaches voting for Raid.”

Hostin explains she took that joke from John Leguizamo. The pair then start to go at it again.

“You are actually twisting what I said. Don’t say that I called white women roaches,” Hostin complains. Farah Griffin responds,  “Sunny, we heard your point, I’m trying to make you consider a perspective you haven’t before.”

Whoopi at this point is done with them both, declaring, “Can’t take it,” and sending the show to a commercial break.

When the show comes back Farah Griffin gives in and states she “misquoted” her co-host clarifying that what was said was a simile.

You can see the whole exchange below:

Farah Griffin was brought in to fill the void left when Meghan McCain left the show. Spats like this weren’t uncommon when McCain was on the show and it seems like the fireworks are back.

  1. Shameful to back down to a racist like Hostin. The liberal way is to say any vile thing you want and justify it by saying it is ok if it is against a conservative. When she parroted the comedians joke she was being serious, not joking. Hostin is just another racist among the many in media.
