After NBC’s Peacock Announces Casey Anthony Docuseries, Many are Outraged and Threaten to Cancel Subscriptions

Casey Anthony was acquitted of capital murder in the death of her two-year-old daughter Caylee. The trial had garnered national attention and the verdict left many people upset with the decision.

Many in the court of public opinion saw Anthony as guilty even though she had been acquitted.

NBC’s Peacock announced today that they will be releasing a mini docuseries at the end of the month. The series has been titled “Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies” set to start on November 29.

In the promotion from Peacock, Anthony is seen primping and is asked, “Why talk to me now when you’re not getting creative control?” The video then cuts to a black screen with words reading “Casey Anthony Speaks”.

Under Peacock’s announcement on Twitter, many people are unhappy to see Anthony has been given a platform as well as media attention.

Twitter user @BunnyNC shared a picture of Caylee with “Casey Anthony is a pathological liar. She will never come clean about what she did to Caylee, so you are merely providing her a platform for attention and an opportunity to repeat her lies. Caylee deserved to go to school, to grow up, to fall in love, to have a family…to live.”

@arnacortazzo replied, “This beautiful child. I still get tears when I see her picture.”

@JayDeeKay4 announced, “Welp, canceling Peacock.”

@popcultclassic also shared they were canceling, “canceling my peakcock subscription today. been meaning to do it anyway. bye”

@OzzieR89 shared, “I can’t even begin to explain how shitty it is of Peacock to give this monster a platform.”

While some are intrigued and will probably watch the docuseries many cannot believe she is being given a platform.
