Billionaire co-founder of Home Depot Bernie Marcus called Joe Biden, “The worst president in the history of this country” during an interview with the Financial Times.
He slammed Biden for putting forth obstacles that now hinder entrepreneurial success.
He shared that Home Depot, which he founded with Arthur Blank in 1978 couldn’t happen now. “We would end up with 15, 16 stores, I don’t know that we could go further.”
He also shared he is “worried about capitalism”. “Capitalism is the basis of Home Depot and millions of people have earned this success and had success. I’m talking manufacturers, vendors and distributors, and people that work for us who have been able to enrich themselves by the journey of Home Depot… Nobody works. Nobody gives a damn… Just give it to me. Send me money. I don’t want to work – I’m too lazy, I’m too fat, I’m too stupid,” he pontificated.
He lamented, “we used to have free speech here, we don’t have it here. The woke people have taken over the world.” He went on to list those who he believes are the obstacles to entrepreneurial success in 2022.
He also shared his thoughts on 2024, calling Trump’s policies “spot on” and adding he will stay out of the primary. “It’s going to be very interesting in ‘24 because I think that DeSantis will challenge him. And may the better man win,” he stated.
Marcus declared, “I’ve got all the houses I need. I live very well. My kids are taken care of. Everything I live for now is finding the right things to put my money into and that can give me a rate of return in emotion and doing good things for this world,” discussing his philanthropy.
Clearly, Marcus sees the democrat agenda as bad for capitalism and entrepreneurs, he sees the woke agenda as cancer attacking capitalism.
He has been a fan of Donald Trump while he was president, but it seems he is going to get into the primary battle that could ensue if DeSantis decides to run.
