Suspect Arrested in Connection to Gruesome Moscow, Idaho Murders

Friday, it was announced that the FBI in northeastern Pennsylvania made an arrest in connection to the fatal stabbings of four students of the University of Idaho.

A man in his mid-20s was taken into custody at 3 a.m. EST in Scranton Pennsylvania, according to Fox 10 Phoenix. The suspect is reportedly a college student, however, he does not attend the University of Idaho.

The Moscow Police Department will hold a press conference at 4 p.m. EST. This announcement comes a day after Chief Fry made an update, sharing they had received numerous tips including, 9,025 emails, 4,575 phone calls, and 6,050 digital media submissions. They have conducted over 300 interviews as well.

He also shared they would be bringing in a cleaner to clean up the crime scene before it is turned back over to the property management company. Fry also thanked those across the nation that have helped with the investigation.

Kaylee Goncalves (21), Madison Mogen (21), Xana Kernodle (20), and Ethan Chaplin were all stabbed to death in the early hours of November 13th. All of the victims were students at the University of Idaho. Police have speculated they were all likely asleep when the attack occurred, corner shared that some of the victims had defensive wounds.

Police have been searching for a white 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantra that was seen near the home early on November 13th.

The small college town hasn’t had a murder in seven years.

UPDATE:

28-year-old Bryan Kohberger was arrested by the FBI earlier this morning in connection to the quadruple homicide in Moscow, Idaho. Kohberger is a student at WSU Pullman, WSU Pullman is a 12-minute drive from Moscow Idaho.
