‘Habitual Offender’ in Texas Gets $1 Bond After Accusations of Kidnapping and Beating a Woman

On Friday the 13th of this month, Aubrey Taylor had his two bonds set to $1 dollar each.

Taylor, reportedly, is a “habitual offender” who has prior felony convictions and now stands accused of kidnapping, beating, and strangling a woman.

Judge Josh Hill doesn’t seem to care about Taylor’s alleged crime or his past. Hill issued the $1 bonds in protest of Texas Senate Bill 6, which eliminates personal recognizance bonds for violent offenses.

Hill wrote the defendant was, “unable to post any amount of bail and is currently being held solely because of his inability to access funds.” He referred to SB6 with, “SB 6 prohibits a personal bond in this case and further limits who can post bail on behalf of this defendant.”

Fox 26 reported on the $1 bond. Taylor has eight prior convictions two of them were for robbery. The district attorney requested no bod or a high bond for Taylor in this case because he kept the woman in his vehicle choking and beating her.

One of Fox 26’s reporters knocked on Taylor’s door, where he is currently under house arrest. It appears Taylor did not want to talk about the bond.

This isn’t the first time Hill has done something like this, in October of 2021 he ignored requests from District Attorney to revoke bond for a murder suspect on three felony bonds.

Hill also released a suspect with gang affiliations on a $40,000 bond for aggravated assault, this suspect was later charged with the murder of an off-duty police detective.

Even in red states, social justice judges are pursuing their own agenda with no regard for the safety of the public.
