Wednesday morning, the face of Black Sabbath, singer Ozzy Osbourne announced he can no longer tour after a major accident that damaged his spine.
Osbourne put out a statement on Instagram announcing he was canceling all future tour dates. He shared in the statement “disappointing my fans really F*CKS ME UP, more than you will ever know.”
Osbourne concluded the statement with a message to his fans, “I love you all.”
He and his team are trying to work out a way he could perform without traveling from city to city, with maybe a residency will be in his future, but we will have to see it that transpires.
Osbourne shared that his singing voice is fine. After many surgeries, physical therapy as well as stem cell treatments he is too weak to do all the traveling that goes along with a tour.
You can read his full statement below:
Osbourne fell in 2019 on his way to the bathroom, this fall aggravated damage he had sustained 16 years prior in an ATV accident. He has undergone three surgeries since the fall.
He announced on Good Morning America four months ago that he could hold his head up once again after the surgeries. At that time he was still hopeful he would be able to get out and resume touring.
Osbourne also told GMA, “When I go on stage, something takes over. My spirit becomes alive.” He had just performed for the first time since his surgeries. We hope he is able to find a way to perform even though he won’t be able to tour.
